Pine Whispers Staff Report
On Tuesday, March 25, Reynolds’ students will be treated to an arts magnet performance like no other: Electrify Your Strings.
Three professional musicians — including the co-founder of Trans-Siberian Orchestra and inventor of the electric violin — will join 100 RJR musicians from chorus, orchestra, band, piano and guitar classes for an orchestra rock concert. At 10 a.m., the entire student body will get to sample the fun in Reynolds Auditorium. That night at 7:30, community members can buy tickets for the show.
The cost of arranging these special performances between professional musicians and RJR students is being offset by donations. Through Monday, March 10, donations will be matched by The Arts Council’s Milton Rhodes Innovative Project Grant and Wells Fargo Arts in Education Grant. Information about the show and your chance to help bring this experience to RJR can be found here on the Power2Give website.
Remember, donations made by Monday, March 10 — an extended deadline — will be matched by our community partners, doubling your impact!
Members of the RJR family and others interested in the evening show also are strongly encouraged to buy their tickets online as soon as possible. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Food trucks and a festival outside the RJR Auditorium will begin at 5:30, and an electric violin will be raffled off during the evening performance.
Tickets can be purchased here at Reynolds’ “Online School Payments” link on the school website.
Don’t forget to share the news of this electrifying event with family and friends! Stay tuned to Pine Whispers for further updates on the show.
