Tiger’s Return

Tiger Woods has suffered from intense back and leg pain over the past year and has been recovering the past nine months from his latest back operation. However, Woods has recently returned to competitive golf in the Hero World Challenge, a tournament he hosted from November 30 to December 3.

Woods has suffered from various injuries throughout his career and has undergone eight different surgeries. He announced in April that he had undergone back fusion surgery, his fourth back operation in three years.

Being sidelined for such a long time from tournament golf is something that would have a major effect on your game. But for Tiger, has also had an effect on his personal life. In May of 2016, Woods was arrested and charged with a DUI, testing positive for five different drugs (Hydrocodone, Alprazolam, Xanax, Ambien, and Delta-9 carboxy THC) in his system.

Despite the legal trouble he faced during his time off, Tiger still planned on returning to competitive golf, he said he was “pain free” and that he has “no nerve pain running down my legs.” In Tigers return he finished at eight under, tying for ninth place with Matt Kuchar.

“Well I think it’s definitely put more pressure on him to succeed and I guarantee that he is rusty from tournament golf and I really think he is going to succeed in his next tournaments.” junior golfer, Zach Brown said on his thoughts of Tiger Woods’ return.

Woods has not yet announced the next tournament he will be playing in, but his most likely return to the PGA tour is the Farmers Insurance Open, a course that Tiger has won almost ten times.
