While North Carolina became the first state to send out absentee ballots beginning Sep. 4, early in-person voting is now in full swing. Friday, Oct. 15 was the first day of in-person voting throughout the state of North Carolina. Many see this as a wonderful alternative to voting by mail or even in person come Election Day because it gives voters a wider range of days to vote.

Given the current social distancing guidelines in place, early in-person voting could be especially critical for this election to ensure everyone is able to vote while remaining safe. Additionally, it may help relieve the lines at polling sites on Nov. 3, which could span blocks due to distanced voters and less voting machines in order to maintain distancing inside.  

Some reported wait times upwards of an hour to cast their ballot on the first day for early voting, but luckily, there is a span of 17 days voters can cast their ballot at any number of the designated polling locations. Check below for the polling locations and times available for early in-person voting, which any voter in Forsyth County is able to choose from.
