Ben Westcott has been involved in many different things over his four years at Reynolds, from student newspaper to playing three years of lacrosse. He played his first three years at Reynolds, two on JV and one on varsity.

Westcott has also been involved in the Boy Scouts throughout his years. He was awarded his Eagle Scout in October of last year. While all of these accomplishments are great, the things Westcott will be taking away from Reynolds are the experiences and friendships.

“The best part of Reynolds for me was making new friends and experiences that I can take with me in the future,” Westcott said.

Westcott has also been on the student paper for the last three years where he enjoys writing stories for Pine Whispers at Reynolds.

“My favorite class at Reynolds would be newspaper because I have taken it the past three years and have enjoyed writing for the school paper,” Westcott added.

While Westcott has enjoyed his time at Reynolds there are certain things he wish he knew before starting ninth grade.

“I wish I had known that my time in high school was going to be full of opportunities and to take as many as I could,” Westcott said.

Westcott has big plans for his future after he graduates from Reynolds this June.

“I will be going to Virginia Tech next fall and I’m looking into a major in computer science [there].” Westcott said.
