If you go to any of the R.J. Reynolds theatrical productions, you will likely find senior Natasha Dell playing a role on the stage. Dell is involved in many of the arts programs here at Reynolds including       a cappella, dance, and theatre. She has been in every show that Reynolds has put on during her four years here.

“I have always loved the arts,” Dell said. “I’ve always loved to dance sing and act, that’s why I’ve always loved musicals and the ones we have done here at Reynolds are great.”

Although Dell does not have any particular inspiration, she started at a young age and has not looked back.

“I just kind of started doing it and loved it and haven’t stopped loving it,” Dell commented.

During school, Natasha enjoys all of her art classes, along with English and science. Outside of school she takes dance classes and voice lessons; she also enjoys reading and listening to music.

Some of Dell’s biggest achievements in the arts, are being in a cappella at Reynolds and playing a role in all of the plays over the last four years here. She has played many different roles in many different plays, but her roles in “Mary Poppins” and “Lés Miserables” are two she enjoyed the most.

Dell played the role of Mrs. Corry in RJR’s production of “Mary Poppins” which remains as her favorite. She enjoys acting because she gets to take up the role of a character and make it her own.

“I just love taking the role of a character, putting my own spin on it, and trying to make it the best that I can,” Dell said.

Dell has loved being involved in many different arts over her time at Reynolds.

“I like that anyone can do it because there are so many different things to do with the arts,” Dell said.  “There are so many experiences you can have…with acting, you get to become another person, with tech, you can build and create a setting without actually going to the place in the story. No matter what you do you can bring enjoyment, feelings, and ideas.”

Dell does not know exactly what she wants to do later in life, but she knows she wants to stay in the arts for as long as she can.

“The one thing that I will never do is give up,” Dell added. “Keep trying even when it feels like the whole world is against you, there is always something good coming your way.  I care about everything I do and I care deeply about my friends, even if I show it in the weirdest way.”
