Senior Tamara Williams has been dancing since she was four years old. Ever since she saw people dancing on TV, Williams aspired to become a great dancer. All these years later she has achieved her dream and continues to grow in her ability.

“My favorite part about performing is just living in the moment and entertaining the crowd,” Williams said.

Williams has a great personality that has helped equip her for dancing.

“Tamara is so nice and fun and she is one of the best dancers I know,” senior boots captain Ally Shelton said. “I absolutely love her and I couldn’t have asked for a better leader for the team!”

Williams has been a huge part of the dance program at Reynolds. She has been a Dancing Boot all four years and is one of the captains this year.

“My favorite part about being a boot is being around people that like to dance just like I do and being able to support our athletics,” she said.

Though Williams does several different genres of dance her favorite is jazz.

“I love jazz because I like to add sass and feel the music,” she said.

Williams is loved by teammates and teachers alike for her leadership and hard working efforts to constantly improve. Senior boots captain Maria Anthony has loved being on the team with Tamara.

“She is a great choreographer and captain for the Dancing Boots because she is an amazing dancer and is always very prepared,” Anthony said. “She makes sure everyone understands what’s going on and makes sure our dances always look their best.”

The dance department will miss Williams and all she brings to the program at Reynolds.

“Tamara is awesome,” dance teacher Jessica Reece said. “She is a strong technician, she can turn for days, she can leap, tumble, she can do everything but she is also a strong leader. She is really strong but also silent to an extent and just phenomenal, I love her.”

Williams loves to dance and plans to continue at North Carolina A&T State University. She wants to major in biology or Pre-med.

“I am most excited about going to college and continuing to pursue my dream of dance,” Williams said.

Though she is excited for her next chapter, Williams will also miss the arts program at Reynolds.

“I will miss the support that I got from the dance department and my teammates to make me a successful dancer,” she said.
