Power couple Kim Kardashian-West and Kanye West, who collectively are called “Kimye,”  have big news coming in January.  That big news is the addition of a third child to their family.  However, the parents of two will use a surrogate mother for their third child.

North and Saint West are the two children of “Kimye” and the newest additions to the famous Kardashian Family, from E! Network’s, “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”  These two have captivated the controversial attention of people everywhere for their family and unique names.

“Because it’s [the parents’] choice, [having a third child] doesn’t really affect anybody,” senior Jelani Keith says. “Just don’t give [the baby] a weird name.”

“I don’think they should be surrounded by the media,” senior Mia Wagner says.  “They should just grow up as normal children and not have this media focus on them all of the time.”

Avid viewers of the reality show also saw in Season 13 Episode 14, “Surrogacy Sisters,” back in June, when Khloe Kardashian offered to be a surrogate for her sister Kim.

Kardashian-West has had previous pregnancy health scares with both of her children, including a case of preeclampsia with her eldest child, North, a potentially lethal condition.

“We deal with that all of the time,” Dr. Laurence Hopkins, an  OB GYN at Novant Health says in regards to preeclampsia.

Dr. Hopkins explains that preeclampsia is a condition pregnant women experience in the last 1 or 2 months of their pregnancy where there is too much protein in their body to process and therefore the kidneys get overworked and shut down.  If your kidneys shut down, the other bodily functions go down with it.  This is especially dire in a pregnancy as it could result in the death of the mother and baby.

“140 over 90 is the cutoff.  That’s when we get really concerned… [We may] induce labor or perform a C-Section.”

Because of these possible implications to her health, Kardashian-West will not give birth to the child, which is why she confided in her sister Khloe to be her surrogate initially.

However, during a visit to a fertility clinic, Khloe Kardashian was also diagnosed to be infertile, unable to bear her sister’s child.

Because of her health scares and no immediate family members being available for surrogacy, Kardashian-West and West now rely on a secret surrogate mother to deliver their third child.

Very few details have been established about the surrogate mother.  All that is known about the surrogate mother is that she is a married black woman and has an expected due date in January.
